Welcoming Our New Graduates, Beth and Debra, to Clarity Wealth

We’re delighted to welcome Beth Jenkinson and Debra Awanife to the Clarity Wealth team as they begin what we hope will be long and successful careers in financial planning.

Both Beth and Debra join us as new graduates following an extremely competitive recruitment process. We received hundreds of applications for the positions, followed by a detailed assessment centre designed to test technical ability, communication skills, teamwork, commercial awareness and, importantly, whether candidates shared the values we expect from people representing Clarity Wealth.

Both performed exceptionally well throughout the process and thoroughly earned their places within the team.

It is also fantastic to add some more female firepower to Clarity Wealth as our team continues to grow. However, I do want to stress that these appointments were entirely merit based. We wanted the strongest candidates available and Beth and Debra stood out during a very competitive process.

Meet Beth

Beth recently graduated from Northumbria University with First Class Honours in Finance and Investment Management.

Alongside her degree, she completed a year-long finance placement, gaining practical experience working with financial information, analysis and business decision-making.

While Beth enjoyed the analytical side of finance, she realised that what interested her most was the people behind the numbers. Financial planning gives her the opportunity to combine those technical skills with building long-term relationships and helping clients make important decisions about their lives and their money.

Beth also received the Faculty Pro-Vice Chancellor Award at Northumbria University in recognition of her academic performance, which is a fantastic achievement.

Her long-term ambition is to become a fully qualified financial adviser and, over the coming years, she will be learning from our experienced advisers and wider team while working towards the professional qualifications and practical experience needed to achieve that.

Away from work, Beth enjoys netball, travelling and spending time with friends and family. She recently travelled around South East Asia and lists South Australia as one of her favourite places she has visited.

Meet Debra

Debra recently graduated from the University of Leeds with an Honours degree in Banking and Finance.

She already brings some excellent experience for somebody at the beginning of their career, having completed an internship within the Bank of England’s Fintech and Central Bank Digital Currency Division, as well as previously taking part in Deloitte’s Spring programme covering Tax and Audit.

Debra has always considered herself a people-orientated person and was attracted to financial planning because it allows her to use her financial knowledge to help people with the things that matter most to them.

Like Beth, Debra’s long-term ambition is to become a fully qualified financial adviser. She will now begin developing her technical knowledge, client skills and professional qualifications alongside the wider Clarity Wealth team.

Outside work, Debra enjoys learning about all sorts of different subjects, from animals and science to philosophy and even tarot cards, so there will rarely be a shortage of interesting facts in the office.

Investing in the next generation of advisers

One of the things we feel strongly about at Clarity Wealth is developing talented people properly rather than expecting somebody to become an adviser overnight.

Financial planning is ultimately a profession built around trust, knowledge, judgement and relationships, and those things take time to develop.

Beth and Debra will therefore have the opportunity to learn across different areas of the business, work alongside experienced professionals, undertake their professional qualifications and gradually build the skills and experience required to become excellent advisers.

Our intention is very much for this to be the beginning of a long-term career journey for both of them.

As Clarity Wealth continues to grow, developing the next generation of advisers will become increasingly important to us. Bringing talented graduates into the profession, giving them proper training and surrounding them with experienced people is something we believe will benefit both our business and, ultimately, our clients.

We’re really pleased to have Beth and Debra on board and look forward to watching their careers develop over the years ahead.

Welcome to Clarity Wealth, Beth and Debra!
